DZK is the next step in the evolution of Hip-Hop music and a step backwards in the evolution of human life. He drinks too much, he smokes too much, he curses, he hates on Jesus, his bathroom is dirty because he doesn't care to look where he pees, he never cleans, he has no job, he is dedicated to one thing and one thing… (more) only... Teenage girls. No, wait, Music. Okay, two things... If Hell had a synchronized swimming squad, DZK would be the one sniffing their swim suits after practice. If you're not listening to DZK, you're doing something right. But for the rest of us, on the bright side, his original and daring song-writing is one of the few guilty pleasures in life that won't kill you. That is, unless you swallow his CD or get hit by his tour bus.
Why this name?
This interview explains it all...
Q: Where did "DZK" come from?
A: I was visiting my friend at college, when I got dragged to a "Delta Zeta Kappa" sorority party. I ended up getting retardedly drunk and hooking up with three chicks from the sorority. I didn't actually get to DO anything, though. I remember getting my pants off and then passing out. I woke up, hours later, in their bath tub with "DZK" written all over me in marker. I had to walk back to my friends apartment looking like that. When I got there, they all started
calling me "DZK" -- and it "stuck" -- so-to-speak.
Q: Where do you live, where you holdin it down?
A: I'm 10 minutes outside of Washington, D.C. in the viscious, hardened concrete suburbs of Vienna, VA.
Q: When did you first become introduced to hip hop?
A: I used to only listen to rock music back in the day, until GZA released Liquid Swords. That's when I realized you could rap about
anything. I was hooked like WHAT!
Q: What artists/people in your life intrigued you to start emceeing?
A: The main ones would be GZA and RZA and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan, Gravediggaz, Jay-Z, DMX, Ma$e (before he got all religious). Do drugs count as an artist? If (less)
