Blogbar is a free search engine bar you can simply include in your own blog or website.
With Blogbar, you'll allow your web visitors to
- search within your blog/website,
- search the web with the major search engines,
- search the blogosphere with the major blog search engines!
It just takes one minute to set up, and you're ready to search!
I like the graphic, including the color schemes. I don't know whether I'm doing something wrong, but I only have a return for a search on "this site" from Technorati
A good widget. A big plus when compared with the widget for "Search Your Site With Google (no web search)" is the option to include one's AdSense code. Also, the options available under search "the web" are very impressive.
Comments:
(1) Some of the color schemes could be improved by having a darker color above and a lighter color below. Currently the darker colors below make it harder to read the words "this site" and "the web";
(2) The Technorati option under search "this site" returns results from ALL blogs, which looks like a mistake. Not only that, Technorati is unbearably slow and so far behind in its updating, that it's just about useless now.
(3) It appears as if one has to press the "OK" button to start a search, unlike the Google SiteSearch widget mentioned above, in which there is the capability to hit "Enter" to start a search, in addition to clicking on the button. Also noted: tabbing from the search box skips over the "OK" button and goes to the radio button for "this site".
(4) The words "Blogbar Service" at the bottom remain half-hidden even after increasing the height of the widget.
Overall, a solid effort. Because of the AdSense Code option, I'll be using this one for now instead of the Google SiteSearch widget.
