- Do I have to be the owner of the blog to add it to a network channel?
- Yes, you'll need to be the owner of the blog. The Widgetbox Network is for bloggers to drive traffic and make connections with other bloggers — real bloggers with real blogs.
- My Network Membership cannot be activated. What can I do?
- The first thing to verify is that your blog URL setting for your blidget matches the URL of the location that you have the Network Widget installed.
- Why do we do this? This is to verify that you are the only one that can enter yourself into a network channel. Real bloggers with real blogs. We verify that the specific widget that we give you on the Join page is located on your blog by checking the blog URL in your blidget.
- If you continue to have problems, just let us know here. We're all working very hard (users and Widgetbox) to build this Network together.
- Why does my channel membership say "inactive"?
- To activate your membership, you'll need to go to the status page (by clicking on that member that is inactive). Follow the instructions on that page, which include getting a copy of the Network Channel widget, installing it to your blog page, and clicking on the activate button on the status page. You'll need to ensure a couple things:
- 1. The blog URL set in your blidget needs to match the URL of the page that the Network Channel widget is installed on.
- 2. The blog URL in your feed (the <link> element) must also match this URL.
- We'll then go out and check the Network Channel widget is on your blog. Once we can verify this, your membership will be activated.
- Why can't my blidget be used in a channel?
- Only blidgets listed in the gallery can be used in a channel. You can list your widget by going to "My Widgetbox", selecting your widget, clicking "Edit Widget", and choosing the "Listed" option.
